Scratch and Peck Feeds Naturally Free Organic Layer Feed 18%  is a special blend of cracked organic grains, organic flax meal, and select vitamins and minerals sourced from North American farms. Similar to Naturally Free Organic Starter and Grower, our Naturally Free Organic Layer Feed 18% contains an optimum level of protein for Stage Three feeding.

This Stage Three feed is appropriate for laying hens ages 20+ weeks that may require extra protein to support increased egg production during molting season. The higher levels of calcium found in this blend help to produce stronger eggshells.

This feed is suitable for ducks, geese, and all waterfowl.

Your hens should be approaching their full grown size at approximately 20 weeks of age. Begin introducing Naturally Free Organic Layer 18% gradually to allow for a slow adjustment to the new feed formula. This is more important when switching from a different type of feed such as crumbles or pellets as your chickens may not immediately know how to consume a mash style feed.

    Organic Scratch/Peck feeds

Posted by Charlane Sollenberger on Jul 31st 2023

My chickens LOVE this feed! They are fed 3 times a day, with this scratch being the midday snack. It keeps them busy and supplies wonderful nutrition to their diet. I also buy my grains and seed from you, and mix my own regular feed which I then sprout for them. They get these sprouts morning and evening. I've never gone a day without eggs, including this past cold and long winter. I love that you deliver to the Anchorage bowl area, as I am in my 70's and would have great difficulty moving the feed sacks from my car to my backyard. So, thank you for that service. I hope you will continue to offer ORGANIC feeds. Most backyard "farmers" are looking for that. THANK YOU!
