ALASKA GARDEN & PET SUPPLY'S STATEMENT ON CORONAVIRUS
March 23, 2020
To Our Wholesale Customer and Retail Partners
We hope everyone has “hunkered down” and is safe and well with their families! We wanted to send you a quick note to let you know, we are still here for you!!!
Under the Mayor of Anchorage EOM-3, We gratefully qualify as an essential supplier and feed manufacturer and can remain open for business.
I wanted to give you a few updates on our business:
Hours: At this time our wholesale hours remain the same. We are here Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm. We have closed our wholesale office to foot traffic in an attempt to keep our employees healthy and safe. We have a walk up window for customer to us. Also, please feel free to call your order in and pay over the phone!
Ordering Lead Times & Shipping: We are receiving a high volume of orders. We are doing our best with limited staff. We will communicate any delays. For our team, please plan on placing your orders as early as possible and expect a 3 day lead time. Doing add-ons to your order will push the order out one day. Again, we will do our best. Our Inside Customer Service Team will communicate any delays.
Inventory: Our purchasing team is doing a great job keeping up with the demand! We have product rolling in and have not had any issues with our shipping partners. Out of stocks have been limited up to this point. We are watching and communicating with all of our vendors through this very fluid time.
Feed Mill: Our Feed Mill team has been outstanding over the last two weeks! They continue to work their hardest to keep up with this unprecedented demand. There are no changes to us manufacturing feed. Our suppliers are still running, full speed ahead; and ingredients are still moving. Animals must be fed every day and we are doing our best to ensure that our part of that process is taken care of. We have a commitment to you and your customers that we are doing all we can to fill your orders. Please have patience if you see we are out of something. We will not be out for long.
I would also like to caution you to review your return policies for animal feed at this time. Please keep in mind that we do not add a lot of preservatives to our feed. And we recommend our feed be used within a six month window. We do not accept customer returns on feed from a Food Safety standpoint. If it is a customer bought a year’s worth of feed and does not want it, I will not return feed. There is not guarantee on how it was stored. If there is a quality issue, please let us know.
We are happy continue to be here for you, your family, and your pets! We want everyone to be safe and healthy!
We appreciate your understanding of this situation and thank you for your business. As Alaskans, we are all in this together.
